The This Country star split from husband Will Weston in July 2021 after two years of marriage and shortly after their second child was born in October 2020.

Daisy admitted she hit ‘rock bottom’ before they separated but confessed she didn’t feel able to talk about her feelings.

She explained: ‘I wasn’t able to admit that I’d completely lost my identity. I was terrified if I talked about the struggles that someone would go, “Oh, you’re not a fit mother, you should have your kids taken off you.”‘

Daisy opened up during a chat with her friend and future Am I Being Unreasonable? co-star Seline Hizli, recalling: ‘We just both broke down on the phone and I said… she pauses. I felt suicidal, I f king felt suicidal and what made me feel even angrier was that I had two kids.

‘I couldn’t f***ing commit suicide. I didn’t even have the choice, if I wanted to go and top myself, because I’ve got these two kids that are dependent on me. And I felt even more trapped in that, it was horrible?’

With Selin’s support, Daisy found the courage to leave her loveless marriage and focus on her mental health, admitting that without the intervention she suspects she would’ve been committed to a mental health hospital.

Following her split from Will, Daisy dated Ryan Weymouth during a five-month whirlwind romance where she got his name tattooed on her ring finger.

They ended their relationship around two weeks after she got the tattoo – which she has since had covered – but said she doesn’t care about the inking as she is making the mistakes she felt she ‘couldn’t make’ before.

Daisy recently said she is now enjoying dating, but isn’t in a serious relationship, as she admitted she doesn’t think she could live with a man again.

An insider told The Sun at the time of her divorce: ‘Daisy said she had grown increasingly tired of married life and was struggling in her relationship with Will.

‘They ended things for good earlier this year. She has taken off her wedding ring and has been telling her friends their marriage is over.

‘She has also removed Will as a director on her media business. It’s been a tough 17 months for everyone and Daisy and Will were no exception.’

Daisy recently admitted that she began considering divorce after reading a heartbreaking post on Mumsnet from a woman in her seventies who had felt ‘trapped’ in her marriage.

Daisy added that when she became friends with Selin, they candidly spoke about what was happening in their lives, with Daisy explaining that she realised what ‘real love’ was because she felt ‘understood’ by her friend.

The pair can currently be seen together in their critically acclaimed BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable? which was in part inspired by Daisy’s marriage woes.
