Tamzin Outhwaite has said she does not miss drinking alcohol after giving it up in a complete health overhaul since filming Freeze The Fear with Wim Hoff.
The 51-year-old actress admitted that she is now able to look after herself better and is able to push herself ‘to wider limits and come out of my comfort zone’.
After filming for the extreme BBC One show where eight celebrities complete challenges in sub-zero conditions, the former EastEnders star experienced perimenopause which ‘really changed’ something in her head.

On her decision to give up alcohol in August, Tamzin told The Mirror: ‘I prefer my physicality and I’m getting a lot done – I’m doing more exercise, not eating rubbish food the day after and when I’m seeing friends we’re getting a coffee or having a swim and a walk.
‘To be honest I haven’t missed it for one moment and I’ve a feeling I’ll try to continue, I’m saying month by month… I’m feeling really good for it, and if I can keep it up until Christmas, I’ll be a happy woman.’
Tamzin also revealed that she has been keeping up habits learned during her time on the intense show with Wim Hoff.
She said: ‘It really changed something in my head. I’ve done a lot since the show, the breath work, cold showers every day. I love all of it, and I like myself at the moment, which can only be a good thing.’

In one of the episodes, audiences saw Tamzin require medical treatment after banging her head on the ice.
The actress was challenged to plunge into ice-cold waters while wearing a swimsuit and goggles and before taking the leap, she said: ‘Think about everything you’ve been through in your life, this is nothing compared to that.’
While submerged in the water, Tamzin had to pull herself along under the ice while holding onto a rope.
Staying calm, she bravely plunged herself under the water and successfully pulled herself to the other side, however when she went to come up for air, she hit her head against the ice.
A shocked Holly Willoughby exclaimed: ‘She hit her head, she hit her head!’
Gasping for breath, Tamzin said: ‘Banged my head, I’m getting out’, while her co-stars looked on in worry.
She was hurriedly helped out of the water and wrapped up in a warm coat, before embracing Holly for comfort.

Still in shock, a disorientated Tamzin declared: ‘I might need to sit down’.
Holly quickly added: ‘I know I feel like that too, we’re going to get you checked out, okay and just make sure everything is okay.’
She also admitted that despite being ‘terrified’ of the experience, it gave her a newfound confidence.

Since, she has been taking part in yoga, performing breathing exercises and taking cold showers every day and feels great for it.
During a chat with The Sun, Tamzin explained that going through the tough conditions together made her bond with co-stars instantly.
She told the publication: ‘Even though we only knew each other for three weeks, I feel like I know them, some of them, better than I know my oldest mates.’
‘When you go through an awful lot of trauma with people, there’s a bond there that’s quite unbreakable, I think,’ she continued.
Tamzin also explained that experience actually built her confidence, sharing: ‘I think my confidence came back when I was there.’
Co-stars: The actress appeared on the show alongside Strictly pro dancer Dianne Buswell, Gabby Logan. Patrice Evra, weatherman Owain Wyn Evans, singers Alfie Boe and Professor Green and Chelcee Grimes
