Shelly Horton has revealed that a clash with a rude Uber driver left her in tears.

The television star, 49, was running late to a meeting when the driver got into an argument with a parking attendant over a $9 fee.

‘I really needed to get moving and the stand-off that was happening between these two men was ridiculous, so I offered to pay the $9 bill’ she wrote in her column for Nine Honey.

‘To which I was met with, “I’m not a rich c**t like you”, and he threatened to throw me out of the Uber.’

Shelly said that she was left embarrassed and began to cry over the interaction.

‘Mortified and stressed to the max, I sat in the back seat and spiralled into a puddle of tears. I sobbed to the driver to please take me to my hotel’ she said.

It’s unclear if Shelly contacted Uber to complain about the negative experience with the driver.

It comes after the TV star revealed how entering menopause left her depressed, anxious and struggling to work.

She says she began perimenopause in her mid forties and it had a devastating impact on her life.

‘Perimenopause hit me severely at age 46 and brought on depression and anxiety that destroyed my work ethic,’ the Talking Married star told Body+Soul Magazine.

‘Luckily, I got information and saw a doctor, so I have most of my symptoms under control’ she added.

Shelly says that she did not feel supported by other women and didn’t have as much information about perimenopause as she needed.

‘I feel like the sisterhood before me let me down with their silence’ she said.

Perimenopause means ‘around menopause’ and refers to the period before menopause sets in.

Symptoms include hot flushes, anxiety, depression and very heavy menstrual periods that cause ‘flooding’.

During perimenopause – the few years before a woman’s period stops for good – there are a lot of hormonal changes which are responsible for the brutal symptoms.

Shelly’s husband Darren Robinson convinced her to see a doctor and she was put on anti-depressants and HRT medication.
