Gervonta Davis is indeed in jail. According to records, he was arrested and booked into Broward County jail on charges of domestic battery.

The Boxing world champ was detained for domestic violence in Florida Tuesday, December 27.

Details of the arrest and alleged domestic violence incident are not immediately available.

Gervonta is set to compete against Hector Luis Garcia in Washington, DC, on January 7.

It is unclear if the Tuesday arrest will affect the match.

It was not the first time Gervonta had been arrested for a crime or domestic violence.

Gervonta Davis Previous Domestic Violence Case

On February 1, 2020, Gervonta Davis was taken into custody on charges of simple battery/domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child.

The incident at the Watsco Center, University of Miami, during a charity basketball game caught significant media attention.

Gervonta was caught on video grabbing the woman’s shirt “with his right hand close to her throat” and dragging her to a separate room.

The victim suffered injuries to her lip and jaw, and the boxer surrendered to Police days after the video circulated on Twitter.

Gervonta Davis Other Charges: Fist Fight And Hit-And-Run

On September 14, 2018, Gervonta Davis was arrested in Washington, D.C., following a fistfight with another man, Police report indicated.

Punches were reportedly landed around the upper body. Someone tried to break up the fight, and both men attempted to flee before the Police arrived.

Trouble found him once again when in March 2021, he was indicted on 14 counts for allegedly running a red light after a birthday Party in November 2020 in downtown Baltimore.

His Lamborghini SUV struck another vehicle, sending its four occupants to the hospital. Gervonta reportedly left the scene in a Camaro that appeared minutes later.

He was headed to a jury trial in March 2022. He could get more than seven years in prison if convicted of all fourteen counts.

Gervonta Davis Was In Court In 2017 For A Mysterious Dispute

Boxing champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been in several legal troubles.

On September 19, 2017, Gervonta was accused of first-degree aggravated assault, and an arrest warrant was issued.

Maryland court records showed that the alleged incident occurred on August 1, 2017, but did not clarify who was involved or what happened.

A $100,000 unsecured bond was posted for his release, and he was due to appear in court on October 19.

The charge was changed to misdemeanor second-degree assault, carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years or a fine of $2,500 or both.

Anthony Wheeler, a childhood friend, complained at the court that Gervonta punched him on the side of the head with a “gloved fist.”

He also said he was diagnosed with a concussion at the hospital. The alleged incident took place at the Upton Boxing Center in West Baltimore.

Davis was set to stand trial on November 29, 2017. However, Anthony later dropped the charges.

The Baltimore Sun reported that Gervonta and Anthony embraced and walked out of the courtroom together.
