The two children were miraculously unharmed, and Dharmesh and the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.
According to rescuing officials, the four inside the wreckage were more scared than injured when they found and rescued them.
However, the case has taken a twisted turn as authorities now believe that the driver, Dharmesh Patel, deliberately drove the car off the cliff in an attempt to commit murder-suicide.
Dharmesh Patel Pasadena Arrested For Murder Attempt
Dharmesh Patel from Pasadena is arrested for attempted murder and child abuse, According to California officials.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) said that Patel, a woman, and two juveniles were traveling in a Tesla.
It needs to be clarified whether the Tesla was in autopilot mode or not. However, the nature of the accident suggested that Dharmesh deliberately drove the car off the cliff.
The car went over the side of a coastal road at a dangerous spot known as The Devil’s Slide. The woman and the two kids have not been identified.
It is also unclear whether the woman and the kids are related to Dharmesh. The cause and nature of the accident remain a mystery.
Charging documents show that the other people in the car were a 41-year-old woman and two children, a girl, aged 7, and a boy, old 4.

CHP investigators interviewed witnesses and worked on gathering evidence from the scene. Based on the initial investigation, the probable cause of the incident was an intentional act.
Dharmesh Patel is an Indian-origin person residing in Pasadena, California. He was arrested at 9 pm Monday, January 2, and did not resist the arrest.

Dharmesh Patel was currently being treated for his injuries from the car crash on Monday, January 2, 2022.
He has been booked for attempted murder and child abuse and will be brought to the San Mateo County Jail after he gets released from the hospital.
The California Highway Patrol announced on Tuesday, January 3, that Patel was under arrest but would first be treated at the hospital.
Patel, who sustained injuries from the 250-feet plunge, will be jailed once his condition gets stable.
According to California Highway Patrol, the case is an ongoing investigation, and no further information has been released.
Four People Miraculously Survive Fall Off The Devil’s Slide
The Tesla slid more than 250 feet off the road and collided with a rocky outcropping.
It flipped a few times before landing on its wheels and wedged against the cliff, just a few feet from the surf of the river.
The rescue crew set up a rope system from the highway to lower the firefighters down the Devil’s Slide.
Other firefighters watching the wreckage through the binoculars saw a movement inside the car, shocking everyone.
The car doors were smashed against the cliff and were jammed shut. Hence, firefighters were forced to cut the door using “jaws of life” tools to take the victims out.
Luckily, the rescue attempt succeeded; both the kids were retrieved without harm, and the two adults sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Home
