The Internet is burning up with what former CNN host Chris Cuomo said on a podcast about what he was thinking about after his firing from CNN.

Cuomo told Anthony Scaramucci on his podcast, ā€œOpen Book with Anthony Scaramucci,ā€ that he had to ā€œaccept [my firing] because I was going to kill everybody, including myself. Things can consume you. Italians are so passionate. And I really had to fight against that.ā€

The ousted journalist admitted he ā€œmakes a lot of mistakesā€ and started therapy after being ā€œsā€“t-cannedā€ by CNN bosses.

ā€œThere is damage that is relatable, there is damage that is unrelatable to people that I have to deal with, that I am working on,ā€ he continued.

Cuomo has since gotten a job with News Nation. As we reported, things havenā€™t been going well. His viewership numbers are pretty bad, averaging about 63,000 a night, versus his CNN show where he averaged a million a night.

He recalled, ā€œAt CNN and I wasnā€™t set up to be [No. 1]. I wasnā€™t the big name there, I didnā€™t have the big team, they didnā€™t do the advertising about me. But I was still No. 1. Why? Because it was the best show. Because I was giving people what they needed in that moment.ā€

At NewsNation, however, Chris knows that the audience is ā€œsmallā€ and ā€œpeople donā€™t want to watch.ā€

ā€œItā€™s hard to keep perspective on that because itā€™s kind of embarrassing,ā€ he lamented before sternly telling The Mooch, ā€œI will never be [No. 1] again.ā€

ā€œI believe that was taken, I believe wrongly. I will litigate that. I am not going to bitch about it in the press.ā€

As he b**ched about it to the media. You can see heā€™s still not resolved his issues with getting fired.

Heā€™s in the process of suing CNN, and he said he was also ā€œin litigationā€ over the cancelation of his book after his firing.

Yes, itā€™s normal to get upset after being fired. No, itā€™s not normal to think about killing everybody and yourself; it has nothing to do with being Italian. Thatā€™s a terrible excuse, not to mention insulting to Italians. It sounds like therapy was a good idea for him.

But when this hit all over the internet on Wednesday, Cuomo tried to suggest he never said it, that the single quote marks meant it wasnā€™t a quote but a ā€œcharacterization.ā€

ā€œSee the single quotes? That means characterization not direct quoteā€¦the post [sic] doing what it does,ā€ Cuomo argued, attacking the NY Post for running the story. ā€œThe truth: We all struggle; we all have to deal with upset and angerā€¦I am no different. That is the pointā€¦you get itā€¦they twist itā€¦so it goes.ā€

Um, Chris? Thereā€™s audio. Plus, he doesnā€™t understand that the single quotes are AP style for headlines. The headline is slightly off, in that the quote was actually ā€œI was going to kill everybody, including [not and] myself.ā€ Plus, the exact quote is in double quotes in the body of the article, so heā€™s just being ridiculous. But thatā€™s Cuomo and it isnā€™t the first time that heā€™s said something outrageous ā€“such as when he flipped out on the guy who called him ā€œFredo.ā€ It sounds like he has a lot of work yet to do to figure himself out.
