Victoria Beckham caused a stir yesterday when she shared an image of her avocado toast, served up on slices from a £6 loaf of bread.
Taking to Instagram, the Harlow-born former Spice Girl, 45, shared a snap of the healthy breakfast staple made with a Bible-inspired recipe – and said her children love it.
But while it’s been championed by the fashion designer, who has been vocal about her healthy lifestyle, many claim the bread made from legumes is lacking in taste – with some comparing it to sawdust and cardboard.

The passage reads: ‘Take also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils and millet, and spelt and put them in one vessel…’
A mixture of sprouted certified organic grains and pulses are used to make the bread, which is also kosher.
However fans hoping to replicate the simple dish will have to spend a little more on their humble loaf, which retails at a rather costly £5.95.
In comparison – an 800g loaf of Warboutons Toastie bread retails at £1.05, almost a sixth of the price.
It’s hard to get your hands on a loaf in the UK because it’s only sold online and in health food stores – but the bread is popular in the US – where opinion is very split on the taste.

While it’s widely acknowledged as one of the healthiest breads on the market, many call have branded the bread ‘gross’, saying it’s dry and has a bad texture.
Taking to Twitter, one food fan wrote: ‘I love the Lord but Ezekiel bread is disgusting’.
Another commented: ‘Ezekiel Bread is disgusting, that is all.’
A third said: ‘I have tried to like Ezekiel bread but I can’t, it’s so so gross’.

While a third commented: ‘Ezekiel bread is gross, but I still eat it everyday… no sugar, no carbs, 4 grams of protein.
Others acknowledged how it was healthy the bread was, saying they make an exception of the ‘poor taste’ to get the health benefit.
However, it does have it’s fans, with some swearing by it, deeming it delicious and nutritious.
One famous fan is model Chrissy Teigen, who has two best selling cookbooks and has hosted cooking shows in the past.
The well-known foodie said that she ‘hates how much she loves the bread’ and offered a tip saying it tastes best when frozen and then toasted.
However, it does have it’s fans, with some swearing by it, deeming it delicious and nutritious.
Ezekiel bread is particularly healthy as it uses sprouted certified organic grains and pulses are used to make the bread, rather than heavily processed flour which is often used in popular bread.
The bread is developed without the use of flour, genetically modified organisms and refined sugars.
This means it breaks down the part of the grain that is hardest to digest, which makes the vitamins in the loaf easier to absorb.
