Thomas Kail began his work as an assistant manager at an American Stage Company in New Jersey after graduating from college. In the mid-2000s, he began directing the theatrical acts. On Broadway, some of the plays are 24 Hour Plays, A Bus Stop Play, and Zusammenbruch. Later, he directed the popular play In the Heights, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for best directing.
