Yaya Diaby was born in Georgia in 1999 and attended North Clayton High School before enrolling at Georgia Military College instead of a typical four-year institution. After two years of perfecting his junior college abilities, Diaby went to the University of Louisville to complete his collegiate eligibility. The defensive star had a tremendous career with the Cardinals, receiving All-ACC accolades in his senior year.
NFL scouts were drawn to his athleticism and experience. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bolstered their defense by signing Diaby as an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft. Despite being passed over in the draft, Diaby earned a roster spot for the 2022 season and immediately showed his ability to compete. Despite being early in his professional career, Yaya Diaby’s focus and work ethic developed in military school are now propelling him to success with the Bucs.
