TikTok star Leah Smith has passed away at the age of 22 following her four-year battle with bone cancer.

The social media star, from Liverpool, amassed over 506,000 followers after documenting her treatment journey online.

Leah’s family announced that she passed away yesterday morning from Ewing’s Sarcoma, which is an extremely rare cancer affecting soft tissue and bones.

Last month, Leah revealed in an emotional TikTok that she was ‘so so scared’ of stopping treatment after doctors told her that it ‘wasn’t working anymore’.

In an emotional video posted on her page last night, her boyfriend Andrew told followers that Leah had passed away at 11:30 yesterday morning.

He said: ‘I just want to say thank you to everyone. All your comments did help. She did actually read all of them.

‘And anyone who said anything nice ever, it means more than you realise.

‘We’ll all miss Leah and we’ll make sure that we never forget her. I want to see everyone speaking about Leah and how amazing she is and how much she helped everyone. We’ll never let Leah be forgotten.’

The video has amassed over seven million views and prompted thousands of fans to leave loving comments.

Fellow TikTok star Katylee Bailey commented: ‘Leah was such a beautiful person inside and out! She will never be forgotten! Rest in peace.’

TikToker Leuan Jones added: ‘This is so sad, life is so cruel! Rest in peace lovely lady.’

Meanwhile, a third said: ‘Been a silent follower for years. Wow I’m so sorry, rest in paradise beautiful. I hope you’re finally at peace.’

Yesterday, Leah’s mother and best friend Vikki revealed the star had been moved to end-of-life care and was ‘so peaceful’.

SYMPTOMS OF EWING SARCOMA:

Ewing sarcoma is a type of cancer that begins as a growth of cells in the bones and the soft tissue around the bones. It largely affects children and young adults.

Symptoms include:

– bone pain

-pain or swelling in the affected area

– a lump in the arm, pelvis or chest

They said: ‘[Leah] looks as beautiful as ever and we’re just grateful we can be at her bedside and hold her hand to comfort her through it.’

‘Andrew hasn’t left her side, he’s been an absolute rock to her throughout this journey.’

The mother went on to say how Leah had asked her to keep her followers updated on her condition.

She continued: ‘We will keep you updated as we know that’s what Leah would want, she shared so much of her journey with you and it’s only fair that we continue to do that in her favour.’

Leah’s friend wrote in the comments: ‘I forgot to mention, Leah is surrounded by flowers in her room and pictures of me and Ellie and all of her memories.

‘She’s in such a comfortable and beautiful place.’

Last month, Leah revealed in a heartbreaking TikTok that her doctors had said there was ‘no point’ in giving her more antibiotics and fluids because they ‘weren’t working anymore’.

She explained: ‘All the pain meds aren’t working so they really just want to get me to as comfortable a state as possible.

‘I don’t know what this means for me, if it is the end of the journey. But all my family have come round and I am just going to act like I’m good and great because quite frankly, I am so so scared. I don’t want to die yet. I’m sorry.’

Leah was diagnosed with cancer in October 2019 after complaining of a constant back ache.

She told the Liverpool Echo in 2020: ‘I had really bad back pains for 10 months. It was constant then I lost all the feeling in my left leg and I knew something was most definitely wrong.

‘I wanted to start a TikTok to express my journey and show people my life living with cancer – the ups and downs of it. People absolutely love it.’
