A personal trainer has outlined two exercises that are key for women over 60. The tailored workout is designed to embrace “beauty and ageing gracefully”.

A fitness expert, known on TikTok as WeShape, shared that these two movements are “most important” for women over 60, because most women in this age category tend to have a tight neck, tight shoulders and bad posture.

Both of the exercises only require a chair and one minute of your time, but they can help loosen your body and make you “feel amazing”.

“Remember, when you move your body better, you will feel better in your body,” the expert said.

1.Low-chair table top lift

The first exercise that the expert recommended involves sitting in a chair. You then scoot to the front of the chair and put your hands behind you, while pulling your shoulder blades back and down.

Once you are in this starting position, you then drive your heels and lift your hips towards the sky, squeezing your glutes. After completing this lift, you can come back down.

“You want to try to squeeze your glutes into your core as you come up and make sure those shoulder blades stay back and down,” the expert added.

2.Y T W movements

The second movement also requires you to sit on the edge of a chair. You also need to put your knees out, and point your toes outward.

From there, you stick your arms forward, turn your thumbs toward the sky and bow forward from the hips.

The expert continued: “Make a Y with your thumbs pointing backwards. Come back down. Make a T with your palms towards the sky.

“Come back down, and then make a W with your thumbs pointing backwards.”
