Adele has become a global pop music icon and has been named one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with sales of over 120 million records worldwide.

Over the years, the 36-year-old has garnered attention not only for her incredible vocals and songs but her incredible weight loss too.

Three years ago, Adele said she lost a massive 100lbs, just over seven stone, in two years.

The ‘Chasing Pavements’ singer didn’t follow a fad diet to shift the weight but instead became “addicted” to exercise.

During an interview with British Vogue, Adele said she felt her body had been objectified throughout her entire career.

She said: “People have been talking about my body for 12 years. They used to talk about it before I lost weight. But yeah, whatever, I don’t care.

“You don’t need to be overweight to be body positive, you can be any shape or size.”

She also said she didn’t start exercising to lose weight, it was for her anxiety.

The singer said when she worked out, she would “feel better” and so exercising became about “becoming strong” and having some time away from her phone.

She added: “I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day.”

Adele shared her exercise regime with British Vogue which includes lifting weights, boxing and cardio.

She explained: “So I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night.”

Adele also said she had started deadlifting, beginning with 10lbs before working her way up to a staggering 170lbs.

The mum-of-one also claims she didn’t follow a specific diet to lose weight.

In fact, the singer said, “if anything I eat more than I used to because I work out so hard”.
