TEEN Mom star Amber Portwood told cops that she and her fiancé Gary Wayt “argued” before he went missing after her brother, Shawn Portwood’s wedding.
In a statement to The U.S. Sun, police revealed that Amber, 34, told police she and her new fiancé got into a disagreement before he left their North Carolina cabin.
“Amber stated she and Gary were having an argument and Gary picked up his car keys and wallet and walked out the door and drove off in a 2009 Nissan Rougue Gray in color,” the statement read.
Police added that he has not been in contact with any friends or family since.
The statement also calls Gary, 39, Amber’s “boyfriend” and “soon to be husband.”
Police confirmed Amber called them on Monday around 4 pm and said Gary had been missing since Sunday evening around 6 pm.
According to the police report first revealed by The U.S. Sun, the pair appeared to be staying in a VRBO cabin in Bryson City, about 60 miles west of Asheville.
The Teen Mom star’s new fiancé, who was briefly introduced to fans this season, is described as 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, and bald with brown eyes.
Gary drives a gray 2009 Nissan Rogue with Indiana state registration plates, according to the missing persons description.
According to reports, Amber has been dating Gary since last year and they got engaged in late May.
AMBER’S FAMILY TROUBLES
Amber has two children; Leah, 15, with her ex Gary Shirley, and son James, 6, with her other ex Andrew Glennon.
The MTV star does not have custody of either child.
Amber spent 17 months behind in prison after pleading guilty two felony charges of domestic battery following an alleged attack on her ex, Shirley.
LIFE AFTER PRISON
After she was released from prison, Amber opened up to InTouch about being incarcerated.
“Before prison, I never thought about Leah. I was addicted to drugs and didn’t care about anything else. Prison saved my life — and gave me a second chance at being a mother,” the mom-of-two told the outlet.
While Amber has frequently spoken about the difficulties in connecting with her daughter, her custody situation with her son is also difficult.
Amber lost custody of James in July 2022 to her ex, Andrew Glennon, 39.
Andrew has since moved with James to California and Amber frequently flies out to see her son from Indiana.
