BROOKE Shields has shared the worrying reason she wore Crocs to the Tony Awards on Sunday night.
The actress, 58, left fans baffled when she rocked the bright yellow footwear to match with her yellow gown at the awards in New York City.
Brooke wore a perforated pair of clogs that retail for $50 at the ceremony.
“I got my Crocs! I couldn’t do this in heels!” she told People on the red carpet.
The actress had foot surgery just days before the event.
On June 15, she shared a photo of her feet in braces while sitting in the backseat of a car.
“The feet pics are about to level up… Double foot toe surgery,” she wrote.
Fans praised the Hollywood star for “pulling off” the surprising choice of footwear.
“Only Brooke Shields could pull this off…. making Crocs look so damn good with her outfit,” one wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“Rocking the Crocs,” another added and a third posted, “Not gonna lie, I kinda f**k with it. Comfortable and doesn’t clash with the outfit.”
“Slay!” another user enthused.
Brooke has struggled with a series of health issues over the past few years.
She broke her right femur in an accident at a New York City gym in January 2021.
The actress sustained the injury after falling off a balance board, flying up in the air, and landing on her leg.
She feared at the time that she was paralyzed and would never walk again.
She was unable to see her husband Chris Henchy and her two daughters, Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18, due to Covid restrictions at the time.
The former model had two surgeries and returned home, only to develop a serious staph infection.
