NICOLE Kidman abruptly left the Venice Film Festival after it was revealed that her mom Janelle Ann had died at the age of 84.
The A-list Hollywood actress appeared at the iconic festival for winning the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl.
Babygirl director Halina Reijin accepted Nicole’s, 57, award and revealed to the audience why The Perfect Couple star made her sudden exit.
Halina read Nicole’s statement, “Today, I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle had just passed.”
The audience gasped at the horrible news.
She continued, reading what Nicole said about her late mother, “I’m in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her.
“She shaped me, she guided me, and she made me.
“I’m beyond grateful I get to say her name to all of you through Halina.
“The collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken,” she said.
Halina concluded her speech by adding, “We love you, Nicole.”
A rep for Nicole shared a statement to People, writing, “The family is heartbroken and asks for privacy at this time.”

Followers of Nicole flooded X by sending their condolences to the Big Little Lies star.

‘SHE GAVE ME MY LIFE’
In a 2020 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole spoke highly of her mother.
The Eyes Wide Shut star said, “She’s given me the fire to pursue the career I have because I’ve always wanted to please her.
“But she also carved her own path and wanted her daughters to have the same opportunity to carve their own paths.
“Mum didn’t necessarily get the career that she wanted, but she was determined that her daughters would have opportunities that were equal.
“That’s given me my life. And she gave me my life, she and my dad,” she concluded.
