Lea played Lorraine Baines-McFly in the film trilogy, while Michael, 63, took on the role of Marty McFly.

The actress opened up to Steve Kmetko on the Still Here Hollywood podcast about their working relationship.

Steve asked: “Did you hit it off with Michael J. Fox right away?”

Lea said: “Probably not because I was friends with Eric Stoltz who had just gotten fired.

“I had already done a movie called The Wildlife with him. So he was a friend of mine.

“Then I did Some Kind of Wonderful and After.

“I remember specifically being really snooty because there was a really big division between movie stars and TV stars at that point.”

She added: “I remember being like he’s just a TV star and I’m a movie star. I was in Jaws 3D.

“It took me a while to warm up to him.”

“But he was so funny and so fun to act with because I had done some scenes with Eric already and then had to redo them with Michael.

Back To The Future cast unrecognisable as they reunite 38 years after the hit movie

“So I could see how they were completely different scenes.”

Michael played Lea’s son in the trilogy.

Eric Cameron Stoltz was originally cast as Marty, but the filmmakers thought he wasn’t the right person for the role.

He was then replaced by Michael.

I remember specifically being really sooty because there was a really big division between movie stars and TV stars at that point.

Last year the cast looked worlds away from their time on the hit movie as they reunited 38 years later.

Michael, Leah and Christopher Lloyd, 84, got back together as they attended a musical based on the iconic film in New York.

The stars of the 1985 movie looked delighted to see one another.

Back to the Future hit our screens in 1985.

Part two was released in 1989, followed by part three two years later.

It follows the story of teen Marty, who travels back in time to 1955.

There have been musicals and TV shows made out of the franchise.
