The astronaut’s diet can help us speed up our metabolism and lose weight. Don’t worry, there is no need to go into space to follow this diet! Just follow these instructions and start feeling as light as you would in zero gravity!

How Does It Work?

Real astronauts don’t use this diet, but only women with astronaut restriction will be able to follow it due to the amount of food they need to give up.

The astronauts’ diet is quite ascetic and consists almost entirely of protein products. Fiber and carbohydrates are significantly minimized.

In addition, you will need to decrease your daily caloric intake (you can calculate it here). Thanks to a large amount of protein you will eat, this diet contributes to rapid weight loss without causing harm to the muscles.

Reduce The Consumption Of These Products:

Try to avoid these products:

  • Soft drinks and fruit juices.
  • Alcohol (mainly because it contains sugar)
  • Salt and sugar
  • Starchy vegetables (potatoes, beets, parsnips, and carrots)
  • Rice and pasta
  • Bread and cereal (no more pizza …)
  • Smoked meat products

Eat More Of These Products:

Eat fish instead of meat and eggs instead of ham. Also, mix these foods:

  • Mushrooms;
  • Eggs;
  • Fish and chicken;
  • Tomato and cucumber;
  • Lettuce and cabbage;
  • Broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans;
  • Pumpkin;
  • Salad;
  • Cheese and tofu;
  • Vegan milk (almonds, rice, soy);
  • Other products that aren’t on the “restricted list”.

Take a look at this sample menu and try adopting some of these meals as your own.

Breakfast: two boiled or roasted eggs + a cup of coffee without milk or sugar.

Lunch: Half a medium-sized chicken with half a liter of chicken broth (in which it was cooked) + salad with tomatoes and mushrooms + a glass of soy milk or black coffee.

Snack: A cup of green or orange tea.

Dinner: a glass of almond milk, fish, and 150 grams of tofu.

You can replace tofu with cottage cheese, chicken with fish, coffee with green tea, and orange with apple.

An important note: Don’t ignore vitamins and minerals. Also, be sure to walk or run daily and drink plenty of water (up to 2 liters per day).

How To Eliminate Stomach Issues

If you have digestive problems, know that they can be improved after making some lifestyle changes. And the suggested diet can help here too.

The most important thing is to reduce or eliminate simple carbohydrates (sugar, pasta, white bread, fruit juice, alcohol, etc.).

Because when the digestive system is out of balance, glycemic carbohydrates and sugar tend to ferment in the colon. This may be the reason for bloating and gas.

It is even possible to cure irritable bowel syndrome using a protein-rich diet, in addition to other diet tips.

Just follow these tips:

  • Stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Avoid fried, spicy, and fatty foods, sweeteners, black tea, carbonated beverages, and alcohol.
  • No Smoking.
  • Eat more prunes.
  • Try probiotics.
  • Do not lie down after eating.
  • Cook with olive oil instead of butter.
  • Sleep well.
  • Try drinking soothing tea like chamomile, mint, and ginger.

Do you like this diet? Are you going to try using it? Maybe you have your own diet plan? Tell us in the comments!
