Foodies are ‘transported to Japan‘ when they walk through the doors of a little-known convenience store in Sydney – complete with a huge range of snacks, instant noodles, stationery and skincare products.
Food blogger Kevin La shared a TikTok video of his shopping experience at Super Orange in Hurstville, just 6km south of the Sydney CBD.
During his visit, Kevin, otherwise known as Sydney Food Boy on social media, said the convenience store reminded him a lot like Japan’s famous 7-Eleven, Lawson and Family Mart.
There are more than 50,000 convenience stores, known as ‘konbini’, across Japan, offering shoppers breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items, flavoured drinks, alcohol, snacks, fruits and vegetables, home essentials, beauty products and more.

‘Did you know there’s a Japanese convenience store in Hurstville? It reminds me of 7-Eleven and Lawson in Japan,’ Kevin said in the video.
‘Look at these drinks, their instant noodles are legit and even Ichiran ramen… lollies, snacks, more snacks, ice cream and daifuku [mochi stuffed with sweet filling].’
‘There’s so much stuff in there, it’s a proper convenience store stuff too.’
His video has since been viewed more than 45,000 times, with many locals saying it’s one of their favourite places to shop for Japanese snacks.

But one biggest things missing from the Sydney store is the famous Japanese food range of sushi, onigiri, curry rice dishes, katsu, sandwiches, pasta and more.
The convenience store has received near-perfect reviews on Google, with many saying they love getting their hands on Japanese-made products.
‘Love this shop. A good variety of Japanese groceries at a very reasonable price, also a lot of branded Japanese food, drinks and cosmetics,’ one wrote.
Another said: ‘Super Orange has heaps of Japanese foods, snacks and drinks. You’ll find lots of delicious well known Japanese food stuff. They also sell a variety of household goods.’
While one shopper jokingly suggested: ‘P.S. leave your bank card or digital wallet at home before you go in. I spent a fortune on kitchen, bathroom and organising stuff.’
