Earlier this week, Australian journalist Natasha Exelby revealed she has been struggling with her mental health for years and had been suffering major depression since she was a teenager.

And on Friday, the TV star gave fans an update on how she’s doing as she appeared on Studio 10

Natasha, 33, said that despite suffering some insomnia recently, she’s doing really well.

‘I’ve been hanging out with insomnia quite a bit lately, I’m hoping it’s just a fling,’ Natasha said.

‘I’m okay by the way, a lot of people have been asking, “are you okay?” Yes, I’m doing really well, how could I not be, I’m sitting next to two of the most glorious people on the planet,’ she added about Studio 10 hosts Sarah Harris and Tristan MacManus.

Natasha added that she wants people to know that they are ‘not alone’ in their struggles with mental health and even said in recent years she’s struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder after covering war zones in the Middle East.

‘I want people to know they’re not alone… get help, the sunshine does come,’ Natasha said.

On Thursday, Natasha shared a series of pictures of herself over the years, including her time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and opened up about her mental health battle.

In her post she said she has been on medication and undergoing therapy for major depression, which she has had since she was just 15 years old.

She even compared her plight to ‘drowning’ in her moving post.

‘In a time when depression, anxiety and self harm are at record highs, I thought it might be helpful to show, that if you do feel like you’re drowning, you are NOT ALONE,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘I was diagnosed with major depression at 15 and been on meds ever since and consistent psychiatric therapy and exercise,’ she explained.

‘You will never be fully cured, but I promise, there’s light at the end of the tunnel… even if it’s an effing long tunnel!! I hope that if you’re reading this and feeling helpless or know someone who is, it will encourage you to get the help you deserve.’
