Sahara Ray shocked fans on Monday by announcing she had checked into a Miami rehab facility for drug and alcohol abuse.
It marked a worrying new low for the Australian-American model, 28, whose eyebrow-raising antics had been the subject of concern for some time.

Sahara was born in the seaside town of Torquay in Victoria but grew up in LA.
Like her famous father, Tony Ray, she grew up an avid surfer, but gave it up as a teenager to pursue a career in modelling and fashion.
She eventually moved to Los Angeles, where she enrolled in The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM).
Sahara went on to forge a successful career as a model and even launched her own swimwear line, Sahara Ray Swim.
