Kelly Clarkson jokes she’ll be ‘single forever’ while discussing first date strategy with Andy Cohen on Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The 39-year-old singer and talk show host tied the knot with her then-manager Brandon Blackstock in October 2013 before she filed for divorce in June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences.
Cohen, 53, spoke about the things he wants to know about a prospective partner on a first date… which included opting for alcohol instead of coffee.

Alcohol: Cohen, 53, spoke about the things he wants to know about a prospective partner on a first date… which included opting for alcohol instead of coffee
Cohen was promoting his new book Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes from Women I Love, which include a quote from Chelsea Handler who is ‘denouncing coffee dates.’
‘I totally agree. I like a boozy first date, so you let your guard down,’ Cohen said, adding that, ‘you have to control yourself.’
Clarkson questioned the use of ‘beer goggles’ on a first date but Cohen said they were, ‘clear beer goggles’ but Clarkson didn’t believe those exist.

‘I don’t know. I might be more of a coffee person. I don’t know if I’m willing to invest in an evening with you yet,’ she said, adding, ‘ll be single forever.’
They also discussed another quote in Cohen’s book from Tina Fey, who says, ‘You can tell how smart people are by what they laugh at.’

Cohen said he ‘lives by that,’ adding when he’s on dates, ‘I always wanna know what they think is funny and what shows they watch.’
Coffee: ‘I don’t know. I might be more of a coffee person. I don’t know if I’m willing to invest in an evening with you yet,’ she said, adding, ‘ll be single forever.’

‘It’s a great way to figure out, to me, are we gonna be able to hang out together?’ Cohen added.
Clarkson added it was a, ‘very clever way of picking the weeds,’ but Clarkson admitted she’s not very good with that.
‘I’m always like that person that’s like, oh, I don’t know, maybe they had an off day,’ Clarkson shared.
Hang out: ‘It’s a great way to figure out, to me, are we gonna be able to hang out together?’ Cohen added

Cohen’s book was published in early November, described as an, ‘inspiring collection of daily quotes from the larger-than-life women that defined his life, offering inspiration, affirmation, and (just enough) intoxication to make any day shine bright.’
