Adele revealed she has given up alcohol in a bid to protect her powerful voice during a surprise Instagram live stream on Saturday.
The singer, 33, revealed she’s had to give up her favourite tipple, an Aperol spritz, because she’s ‘gearing up’ for her return to music with her long-awaited comeback single Easy On Me.
Speaking on the stream, she said: ‘Aperol spritz, I love that. Although ‘cos I’m gearing up to come back I’m having to cut out my drinking.’

It comes just days after Adele told US Vogue that she suffered from ‘hanxiety’ after drinking a little more than usual during lockdown.
‘I’m always a bit hungover on Monday morning. It got earlier and earlier, the drinking,’ she began.
‘I was falling out the back door of the bar rather than falling out of the front. Then I remember I woke up with the worst hangover.
‘Hangxiety, I call it. ‘Who did I talk to? What did I do? It was a month of me going crazy.’
