In an exclusive published Saturday morning, Fox News Digital reports that former President Donald Trump is asking, “Where do I get my reputation back?” in the wake of Friday’s startling revelation in the Michael Sussmann trial. In that testimony, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was directly implicated in pushing the fake Alfa Bank Russia Collusion story.

Trump tells the outlet:

This is one of the greatest political scandals in history. For three years, I had to fight her off, and fight those crooked people off, and you’ll never get your reputation fully back.

Where do I get my reputation back?

Trump continues, adding that all the resources used to investigate him in the phony Russia Collusion scandal could have better been used elsewhere, like protecting us from what “could have been a real danger with Russia.”

He then proceeds to take aim at those he believes failed in their duty to prevent something like this from happening.  “And if we had real leadership, instead of people like Mitch McConnell, they would do something about it. And guys like Bill Barr. They would have done something about it,” he says.

The quick backstory: Sussmann is being charged in the Durham probe, which RedState has been covering extensively. On Friday, former campaign manager Robby Mook directly tied Hillary Clinton in pushing the false Alfa Bank story, which purported to show collusion between Trump and a Russian bank. This followed Thursday’s testimony in which former FBI General Counsel James Baker testified that the bureau investigated the bank story and found that “there was nothing there.”

As we reported earlier on Saturday, George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley weighed in by saying Hillary Clinton was “Voldemort-like” and probably won’t face “direct responsibility” in the Durham probe.

Durham was appointed in 2019 to investigate the origins of the FBI’s original investigation into the Trump campaign, known as Crossfire Hurricane. Crossfire Hurricane led to the Mueller probe, a two-year, $32 million waste of everyone’s time.

A lot of probing has happened, and still almost nobody’s suffered any consequences.

Trump asks an important question: where does he get his reputation back? I also ask, where do we the taxpayers get our money back, our two years back, our sense of trust in the government and media back? So many people in “authority” failed us, from corrupt former FBI chief James Comey, to conspiring former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, to the once-respected Robert Mueller, to the New York Times and Washington Post–two papers with storied histories that utterly fell asleep at the wheel.

The Russia Collusion lie remains a deep and embarrassing stain on our country, and one can only hope that Durham’s prosecution of an obscure lawyer in the scheme might lead to the real culprits paying a price.

Meanwhile, Trump is never going to get an apology from the people listed above, and as for his reputation, he will never get it fully back. Hopefully, he can get some satisfaction in knowing that he was right all along–and they were wrong.
