ALFONSO Ribeiro has publically shut down any suggestion that Tyler Perry should help revitalize his career.
The Dancing with the Stars host let his feelings about Tyler Perry, 54, be known after an X user mentioned the pair should work together.
This month, during an interview with Closer Weekly, Alfonso, 52, revealed that his acting career dried up after playing Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
“It was one of the greatest roles that I ever was fortunate enough to play, but it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else,” he told the outlet.
Seemingly in response to the article, a fan tagged both Alfonso and the Madea film series creator when they tweeted, “@tylerperry needs to revamp @alfonso_ribeiro career, I just know he could.
Surprisingly, Alfonso replied to the fan, writing, “I don’t need or ever want that man to do anything for me.”
The pointed response shocked fans who wondered if there was bad blood between the two actors.
One person replied, “We’ve had a comedian war and a rap battle; now it’s time for a thespian showdown.”
“What does he know that we don’t,” asked another.
“Bro said he cool on all that lol,” added a third.
One fan mentioned, “Any time they say, ‘that man’ you know it’s bad.”
“‘That man’ sounds like there’s more you need to get off your chest. Tell us, this is a safe space,” prodded a second.
“The savage level just went through the roof on this. I don’t know what happened but something did. Speak your truth Carlton,” encouraged another X user.
“Ohhh yall thought that was Carlton yall was talking to huh? Better leave Alfonz alone,” joked a fourth.
While a fight commenter wrote, “They acting like ‘Carlton’ isn’t currently booked for America’s Funniest Home Videos & Dancing with the Stars.”
STALLED CAREER
Alfonso opened up about how his life changed after starring in the early 90s NBC sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
As Carlton, he was often the punchline to Will Smith’s self-named character, while also becoming a fan favorite after memorable moments like when he danced The Carlton.
He shared some regrets about the role when speaking with Closer Weekly, telling the outlet, “Playing Carlton on ‘Fresh Prince’ became a sacrifice.”

“I used to always say doing Carlton was the greatest and worst thing that ever happened to me.”
He further explained that his “sacrifice” nearly cost him his acting career.
“It was one of the greatest roles that I ever was fortunate enough to play, but it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else.”
HOST WITH MOST
While no longer acting, Alfonso still enjoys life in front of a camera as host of Dancing with the Stars.
“I’m enjoying being a host and am very happy with it,” Alfonso continued.
He also showed some love to his co-host, Julianne Hough.
“Julianne and I have incredible chemistry together for the show,” he said. “We really work well together. I’m truly enjoying everything I’m doing.”

However, never say never.
“But, yes, I would go back to acting if it was exactly the right thing.”
Alfonso and Julianne put their chemistry on display last year, as the two shared an impromptu bump and grind outside of their studio soundstage.
Julianne danced sexily behind Alfonso, who was showcasing his own seductive moves that looked nothing like The Carlton.
The 35-year-old showed her style, dropping down low and thrusting her hips while teasing the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star.
Alfonso’s dance was a little less polished, as he flung his arms around like an inflatable wobbly man outside a used car dealership.
The AFV host grabbed onto a nearby handrail for support.
The pair seemed to go unnoticed by fellow crew members, who filed by behind them.
