Farewell to composer Alvin Lucier (1931 – 2021) whose work taught us so much about the very act of listening as much as the music itself. He offered us a sonic world between acoustic fact and acousmatic dreaming. pic.twitter.com/sGEKw9DR5y

RIP to the incredible Alvin Lucier. An artist who we were never able to welcome to perform at OTO, but whose work was performed here numerous times. His influence on experimental and marginal music is insurmountable. pic.twitter.com/csn8TxouFi

Alvin Lucier Death Cause: What Happened To Him?
The cause of Alvin Lucier’s death has yet to be determined.
Nick Zanca, an American musician, was the first to inform the public about Alvin’s death. He did not, however, explain the reason for it.
He was 90 years old this year, so we assume he succumbed to old age. He may have succumbed to a sickness throughout the course of the year, hastening his death.
We can’t guarantee that because there isn’t enough information to back up that claim.
Many musicians looked up to him as an inspiration, and he will always hold a particular place in their hearts.
Alvin Lucier is dead.
Words cannot describe the impact of this man’s contribution to experimental music, psychoacoustics, and the romance between neuroscience and sound.
Play this one on a good set of speakers as loud as you possibly can today.https://t.co/nl7hLT4df9
