Amara La Negra has given an update on her daughters, who were born on March 23, 2022. In a series of Instagram posts posted on Saturday, the new mom revealed that her twins are in the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)

“One of the toughest moments for me has been giving birth without being able to hold my babies, healing from my C-section and having to go to the NICU everyday knowing I’ll go home without taking my girls with me even though I know they will be fine.”

She continued, “I hate having to leave them but thank God they are healthy and beautiful. I’ll be honest I didn’t understand what a serious operation a C-Section is all The layers and the sacrifice your body goes thru to bring life to this world! but thank god I had an amazing doctor and the hospital treated me amazingly and I’m so grateful for that.”

Amara la Negra announced her pregnancy back in November with a People digital cover story. The then-pregnant star revealed in an exclusive interview with the publication that she would be raising her kids by herself.

She said, “I will be a single mother. I know my babies will depend on me. Father is not the one who makes the child but the one who raises it. In time, if God grants me the blessing of finding the right man, one who supports me, who accepts me with my children, then Amen, he will be well received. But I feel blessed, and I am so happy that I sometimes forget that (I’ll be a single mom). I’m more focused on my babies.”

At the time of her interview, Amara did not mention her babies’ father. It wasn’t until last month that the Afro-Latina singer revealed that her on and off boyfriend, Allan Mueses, is the father to her twin girls.

“Grateful to [God] for the blessing of becoming the father of two beautiful twins,” Mueses shared on Instagram to announce the birth of his girls. “I will love and protect you with everything,” the businessman promised. “You already have many uncles and aunts waiting to see and hold you,” Allan told his newborn twins.

Congrats to the new parents!
