Early Life of Andrew Rannells

Rannells was born to Charlotte and Ronald Rannells in Omaha, Nebraska. He is the fourth of five children, including an elder brother and three sisters.

Rannells attended Omaha’s Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School before transferring to the all-boys Roman Catholic Creighton Preparatory School.

In Omaha’s Hanscom Park area, his family resided.

When he was younger, he attended workshops at the Emmy Gifford Children’s Theater and performed at the Omaha Community Playhouse, the Firehouse Dinner Theatre, and the Dundee Dinner Theatre.

Rannells appeared in his first play at the age of 11. He performed in community theater with fellow Omahan and Creighton Prep alumnus Conor Oberst.

His voiceover and commercial work include a 1996 Grease parody starring Amy Adams.
