Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus and Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus have been arrested in connection to the death of a four-year-old girl in June.

Ashley and Rocky, from New Britain, were taken into custody on Tuesday, December 27.

The two New Britain residents have been charged for multiple reasons, including manslaughter, injury to a minor, and false statement.

The suspects are set to appear in court on Wednesday. More information will come out as the investigation continues.

Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus And Rocky Arrested In Connection To The June Death Of 4-Year-Old Girl

A man and a woman from 873 East St., New Britain, are arrested in connection to the death of a four-year-old in June.

Those arrested are 28-year-old Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus and 31-year-old Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus.

The suspects were detained in New Britain and were taken to the Bristol Police Department.

The couple is facing a slew of charges, including manslaughter, according to Bristol Police.

They have been charged with first-degree manslaughter, intentional cruelty to persons, first-degree unlawful restraint, risk of injury to a minor, and conspiracy to commit risk of injury to a minor.

Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus is also facing an additional charge for making a false statement to the Police.

Bristol Police said the duo was charged following an investigation into the June death of a 4-year-old girl.

However, they have not elaborated further. They said they are not disclosing the victim girl’s identity.

Ashley and Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus are listed as residing at the same address in New Britain. WFSB reports that they are a married couple. 

However, authorities did not specify the relationship between the suspects and the slain child.

Although they have been released on $250,000 cash/surety bonds, they are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, December 28.

Bristol Girl Manslaughter Case: What Next?

Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus, 31, and Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus, 28, of East Street, New Britain, are now in custody.

They were arrested at a location in the city with arrest warrants stemming from the death of a little girl in June, public information officer Lt. Geoffrey Lund for the Bristol Police Department said.

“Events leading to the death are believed to have occurred in Bristol,” Lund said. 

He also stated that the investigation began in June but did not say much about the child’s identity, how she died, or her connection to the suspects.

Bristol Police, with the assistance of Local Police, made the arrests.

The Bristol authorities obtained warrants for the arrests of Ashley and Rocky, which were served in New Britain on Tuesday with the help of the New Britain Criminal Investigations Division.

The New Britain couple will now face a judge in New Britain Superior Court in New Britain on Wednesday, December 28. 

Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus was charged with manslaughter 1st degree, unlawful restraint 1st degree, intentional cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a minor, and conspiracy to commit risk of injury to a minor.

Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus was charged with manslaughter 1st degree, unlawful restraint 1st degree, intentional cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a minor, conspiracy to commit risk of injury to a minor, and false statement.

The case appears to have come to a more comfortable place with both the suspects identified and caught. However, it is too early to say anything definite until the court hearings are complete. Home
