- In order to pay for his education, Asrani worked as a voice artist at All India Radio, Jaipur.
- He co-starred as Champak Boomia/Amit Desai in the 1973 comedy film Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar and this role won him the Filmfare Award in the “Best Performance in a Comic Role” category.
