The blood clot controversy surrounding the AstraZeneca vaccine has deepened after it was revealed the UK trial of the Oxford-AstraZeneca will be paused following fears the vaccine puts younger people at risk of developing blood clots. The move to halt the vaccine trial is a “sensible” one, according to Professor Paul Hunter, medical microbiologist at the University of East Anglia. He said on GMB on Wednesday: “It is sensible to delay trial in children. It provides some time to understand the data better.”
