Zurer’s mother was born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Israel when she was sixteen years old. Zurer’s mother hid in a convent in Slovakia to avoid the Holocaust. Her father, who was born in Israel, was of Russian-Jewish descent. She was also a member of the Northern Command’s military band. After her service, she attended the Yoram Levinstein Academy for three years to study acting.
