The spokeswoman for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day told The Daily Telegraph on Saturday that the risk of FASD isn’t worth a tipple.

FASD can cause physical and neurological problems, as well as issues in behavior and learning, and is caused by alcohol consumption in pregnancy.
‘We are honing in on women who are trying to conceive or who are pregnant or who are breastfeeding and asking them to avoid alcohol because of the research, which is saying that FASD is such a real thing that is affecting our babies,’ she says.
She added: ‘We are not wanting to shame anyone, we are not wanting to blame anyone but there is no safe amount of alcohol for anyone to drink whilst being pregnant or breastfeeding.’

The Australian Government Department of Health advises that, ‘You should not drink alcohol if you’re planning to become pregnant because no safe level of alcohol has been identified.’
Additionally, the site adds: ‘No safe level of alcohol consumption during pregnancy or while breastfeeding has been identified.’
Zoe and Benji welcomed daughter Ever on June 15. They are also parents to young son Benjamin Fox, three.
