Betty White’s cause of death: Betty White died on New Year’s Eve, just a few weeks before marking her 100th birthday. The Golden Girls actor’s cause of death has been described as natural causes but her agent has reacted after rumours began to swirl.
Tributes have been pouring in since Betty’s death was announced last week.
However, her agent and good friend Jeff Witjaz has called on people to stop politicising her death.
He opened up in a new statement after rumours emerged she may have died from complications over her Covid-19 booster.
“People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier but that is not true.
“She died of natural causes.
“Her death should not be politicised – that is not the life she lived,” he added to The Hollywood Reporter.
The rumours had emerged after her death when a quote was falsely attributed to Betty.
However, Jeff has clarified Betty didn’t say this and didn’t receive her jab at that time.

Her agent was also the person to share news of her death on Friday evening.
At the time, he told PEOPLE: “Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever.

“I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much.
“I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden.
“She believed she would be with him again.”
Betty had been speaking in recent months about her health as she turned 100.
This came as a special cinematic event was due to air to coincide with her landmark birthday.
This will feature interviews from Betty’s co-stars and friends, including Ryan Reynolds and Robert Redford.
Speaking to PEOPLE in an interview published on December 19, she shared how her longevity was down to “avoiding anything green.”
Betty had said: “I think it’s working.
“I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age.”
