BILLY Ray Cyrus had a musical mishap during the concert for the inauguration of President Donald Trump when his musical equipment malfunctioned.
The country music legend, 63, was mid-performance at Washington DC’s Capital One Arena when his equipment appeared to stop working.
He was performing the 2018 hit Old Town Road by rapper Lil Nas X on which he featured when the issues struck.
The father of Miley Cyrus was slammed for not only appearing to lip sync during the “Liberty Bell” event but also for his appearance.
“Billy Ray Cyrus, clearly lip-syncing, looks like he crawled out from under a bridge before this weak performance at Donald Trump’s inaugural Liberty Ball,” one X user wrote, adding that it was “so embarrassing.”
It comes as…
After his guitar appeared to stop working, Cyrus began to sing a bizarre acapella version of the song as he stood on stage in the dark.
The 90s pop star could be seen shouting backstage asking for a technician to sort the issue before he was escorted off stage.
At one point, he was heard asking the stage crew, “Is my guitar still on?” after being unable to hear it.
“I think they cut me off,” he added. “I don’t hear my guitar anymore.”
As he continued to hold the instrument up, he asked the workers backstage, “Is anyone awake?” as he appeared to lose patience.
“I don’t hear it? Do y’all hear it?” he went on.
“Is anyone back there? Can somebody turn my guitar back on? We’re going to sing a bit more.”
Cyrus’ on-stage difficulties quickly drew the attention of viewers.
“Billy Ray Cyrus had one job to do and he f**ked it up,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Major problems with the sound for Billy Ray Cyrus performance, if you could call it that,” wrote another.
“Super cringe. He was on stage playing his guitar with no sound and you could hear him jumping while he was trying to dance and play.
“Felt bad for the guy. Epic fail.”
Another added, “Who signed off on Billy Ray Cyrus performing tonight? They should be fired immediately. This is awful.”
The mishap came just hours after fellow Inauguration performer Carrie Underwood was also hit with technical issues.

Underwood, 41, could be seen mouthing that her backing track wasn’t working as she prepared to perform for President Donald Trump.
The country star allegedly threw a “hissy fit” after she was quickly “ushered in and out” of the Capitol following the botched performance.
The American Idol winner ended up pushing through as she belted out the tune acapella and was praised by viewers for her professional “boss move.”
However, according to the DailyMail, Carrie was upset that she was not granted a proper “stage or platform even like previous performers,” presumably due to the event being held indoors.
