A bridezilla has revealed how she plans on asking her best friend to wear a wig to her wedding after she hit a ‘depression streak’ and ‘chopped all of her hair off.’
The anonymous bride-to-be, believed to be from the UK, shared a post asking for advice on Facebook, which was re-posted to the Reddit ‘Wedding Shaming’ group.
The bride-to-be penned: ‘So this is gonna sound absolutely bridezilla but one of my bridesmaids hit a depression streak recently and decided to chop ALL her hair off.
‘I had this beautiful idea of all my bridesmaids having their beautiful long hair in photos. Would it be wrong to ask her to wear a wig?’
And it wasn’t long before forum users jumped in to defend the bridesmaid, who was suffering a mental health breakdown.

‘Normally a bridesmaid is someone close to you that you care about….. nice to know her first thought was the wedding and not her friends health!’ wrote one, while a second penned: ‘Bridesmaids. Are. Not. Props.’
In the initial post, the bride-to-be added: ‘She has done this in the past and worn her wigs for special events and anniversaries and stuff where she wanted to have long hair.’
However, the detailed explanation didn’t change the opinion of the majority, who slammed the woman for putting her own selfish needs above her bridesmaid’s mental health.
‘Why do people think the world revolves around their wedding??? The guests lives have nothing to do with your wedding,’ wrote one. ‘Their bodies and hair and skin and clothes have nothing to do with your wedding.’
‘Their mental health has nothing to do with your wedding (aside from making it worse). It’s absolutely unreal I don’t know how our culture allows this. You’re getting married, not curing cancer. Anyone can do it.

A second shocked social media user commented: ‘I love how she capitalised “ALL” so she can get that shock factor points in her favour.
‘Yes I know she is in distress and in a depressive episode but it was ALL her hair. if she was that depressed maybe she should’ve just trimmed her split ends, but it was ALL her hair. ALL. Like sure, it is obviously a clear quantifier of how serious this mental breakdown was, but it was ALL her hair. ALL of it. Imagine that in your wedding, right?’
A third penned: ‘Her description of her “depressive “streak” is gross. Discussing her vision of having photos of long beautiful hair is dismissive.
‘She could have just said that her bridesmaid cut her hair and asked whether she could ask her to wear a wig without being an a**e.’

However, others argued that they didn’t see an issue with asking the friend to wear a wig if she’s done so on previous occasions.
‘I mean…if she wore wigs before I don’t see the problem. Besides posting it on social media for everyone to see,’ commented one.
A second penned: ‘Yeah, I agree. If she didn’t wear wigs normally and always rocked a bald head I think it would be rude to ask but if she generally wears them for formal events it seems like she would probably do so for a wedding anyway.’
Meanwhile, a third added: ‘I don’t see a problem with the wig if her friend occasionally wears them anyways. It’s the first part and how she talks about the friend’s depression and her vision that kind of makes my skin crawl.’
