Callan Chythlook-Sifsof was born in Anchorage, Alaska, the U.S., on February 14, 1989.

She is a snowboarder from the United States who has been competing in snowboard cross since 2005.

Callan was selected to compete in her first Winter X Games in 2006 and won a silver medal in 2011. In 2007, she won the United States National Championships in Tamarack, Idaho. In Sun Valley in 2008, she won the Jeep King of the Mountain World snowboard series.

Her most acceptable World Cup results were a second-place finish in Furano, Japan, in 2006 and a second-place finish in Arosa, Switzerland, in 2011.

On January 26, 2010, Chythlook-Sifsof was named the 2010 Winter Olympic Team. In the qualifying round, she finished 21st and did not advance.

She came out publicly as homosexual in February 2014, at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, for which she was not selected, explaining she did so in solidarity with ongoing Olympic protests against Russian anti-gay laws.

It is critical to come out and take a stand, demonstrating to the public that being a bigot is not acceptable.
