CELEBRITIES have been flocking to a luxurious $165,000-a-month treatment center in Malibu, California that features a spa, stunning views and more amenities.
Richard Taite, who founded Cliffside Malibu where stars from Lindsay Lohan to Scott Disick sought treatment, has returned after a five-year hiatus with Carrara Treatment Wellness and Spa located in Malibu, California.
Carrara Owner Richard told The U.S. Sun in an exclusive interview, “The last 21 years I have been in the treatment industry giving people back their loved ones.
“I started a company in 2005 that was a luxury treatment facility that treated probably 10,000 people. I sold that business. I took a vacation and now I am back for Carrara.
“I formed Carrara because I was having a five-year bad vacation. If you’re not helping people, you feel useless. This was something that I did with my friends who I love and wanted to have something to do. I came back for the fentanyl crisis.”
INSIDE CARRARA
Where do celebrities go to rehab? Richard describes Carrara as “one of one,” as there is “nothing like it.”
“The other luxury treatment facilities in Malibu aren’t really luxury. People have left in the middle of their treatment to come to Carrara.”
Richard explained how he found the “best people in the industry” to work at Carrara, as “only the best practitioners and doctors” are employed at the facility.
As for amenities, Richard praised the food as “magnificent.”
“I’ve never had perfect food ever at a treatment center ever,” he said. “I’ve got Stevie Wonder’s chef. The food has been perfect.
“We’ve got a full spa inside the treatment center. People wake up and they go to our juice bar. Then they move their body. They can do yoga, pilates, tai chi, weights, cardio, swimming, whatever they want. It’s a totally different experience. That’s why celebrities come.
“We have the three pools, two jacuzzis, a full gym. This is the best part, there are no shared rooms. Everyone’s got their private bedroom with their ensuite bathroom and their own temperature controls.
“Those are just a few of the things that make us different. The foundation for everything is love, empathy, respect, safety and attunement to one’s needs before they know they have a need.
“That’s the important part of this.”
In photos obtained by The U.S. Sun, patients of the facility wake up to stunning ocean views from their rooms, which include a fireplace.
As for treatment, the facility offers drug detox, and treatment for substance abuse, anxiety, depression and more.
“We do medication, adjust medication, pain management, and then what we do is refer to our after-plan we create with them. We send them to either a case management company, sober coach or sober companion if they need it.
“As for the aftercare program, they know where they’re supposed to be every minute of every day. If you don’t know where you’re supposed to be in early sobriety then you’re in a bad neighborhood.
“We have individual treatment for everybody and that’s what makes us different.”
While Carrara is $165,000 a month, Richard does offer a more affordable treatment center 1 Method Center.
“Just like Carrara, this in-network center is the same. I bought it from a guy who advertised it as luxury. It’s not as luxurious as us obviously, but it’s comparable to Malibu luxury. We share a lot of the same staff, they’re getting the best care anyone can get.
“We’re going to have 1,000 beds in four years for in-network people and the military, which is my dream. We’re going to treat the military, all veterans.
“That’s why I came back.”
