CARRIE Underwood suffered major technical difficulties as she performed for President Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Monday, January 20.

Carrie, 41, sang America the Beautiful at the inauguration- and the rendition did not go down without a hitch.

The new American Idol judge rocked a simple off-white dress as she gracefully walked toward the front of the room to perform at the big event.

Gripping the microphone, she smiled then appeared to grimace as she waited on the background music to start for an awkward several seconds.

Eventually, she just began singing a cappella.

“You know the words, help me out here,” she pleaded with the room inside the U.S. Capitol, before belting out the classic song.

Upon completing the tune, she clapped, bowed and shook both President Trump and President Joe Biden’s hands.

She then flashed a smile and walked out.

Fans were impressed with Carrie’s ability to perform under immense pressure and problems beyond her control.

“Carrie Underwood owned the moment,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Heroic moment by Carrie Underwood in the face of adversity,” wrote another.

“What a trooper!” chimed in a third.

Carrie Underwood’s future on American Idol revealed as ‘blindsided’ producers are ‘angry’ over inauguration performance

CARRIE’S BIG MOMENT

Carrie confirmed she would be singing at the prestigious event on January 13.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” she said in a statement to USA Today.

“I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

AMERICAN IDOL EXECS ‘NOT HAPPY’

As The U.S. Sun previously reported, Carrie was privately criticized by American Idol execs after the announcement she would be performing in celebration of President Trump’s big day.

“There are producers who don’t approve and are worried,” a source said.

“A lot of viewers are already speaking of a boycott, whether or not that’s true or just noise will be seen after the ratings come in but the conversation it now brings Idol into is not what producers want.

“They don’t want the show to get political, they want it to be an escape from that.”

Who is performing on Inauguration Day?

Following their Election Day victory, Donald Trump and JD Vance are set to be sworn in as president and vice president of the United States.

Trump and JD Vance will take the oath of office at noon EST on January 20, 2025, marking the official start of the new administration.

Who will be performing at the presidential inauguration?

The Make America Great Again Victory Rally:

  • A performance by Kid Rock.
  • The Village People will take the stage.
  • Grammy Award singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
  • Country singer Lee Greenwood.

The swearing-in ceremony:

  • Country music star Carrie Underwood will perform America the Beautiful.
  • Opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem.
  • Country singer Lee Greenwood will perform his single God Bless the USA.

The Liberty Ball:

  • Singer Jason Aldean.
  • The Village People.

The Commander-in-Chief Ball:

  • Country music band Rascal Flatts.
  • Country music singer Parker McCollum.

The Starlight Ball:

Carrie’s fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as well as host Ryan Seacrest were also unimpressed with the news.

“Ryan, Luke and Lionel won’t be happy either because they will inevitably also get asked about it in some interview at some point and that’s not a topic they want to be sucked into,” the source explained.

However, the source assured that Carrie would not be fired from the ABC music competition show for participating in the inauguration.

“It doesn’t conflict with any of her Idol taping dates and [the inauguration] is before this season airs, so it doesn’t go against anything in her contract.”

Carrie has never spoken out about her political views, claiming in 2019 she “stays far out of” the topic.

“I feel like more people try to pin me places politically,” she told The Guardian.

“I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins. It’s crazy.”
