CARRIE Underwood is allegedly ‘second guessing’ her decision to perform at the presidential inauguration as she is now ‘not sure if it was worth it,’ a source told The U.S. Sun.

The country singer has remained silent after her controversial appearance at  Donald Trump’s inauguration – which only grew more tense due to a major technical mishap in front of cameras from around the world.

Since it’s been five days since the inauguration without a word from Carrie, 41, fans are growing increasingly curious as to how the Grammy-winner is feeling about the buzzed-about performance.

For those in Carrie’s circle, it’s apparently “not a secret” that she is “frustrated” with how the performance went, a source exclusively claimed to The U.S. Sun that

“Her keeping quiet is an indicator things did not go well for her, not how she wanted.

“Reports of her having a ‘hissy fit’ isn’t true though, she isn’t a toddler but she was and is frustrated,” the insider said.

The source claimed: “How the performance was pitched to her and how it ended up going were two very different experiences.

“Most of that had to do with the event being moved indoors which decreased the guest list and how many people she could bring with her – something she was not happy about.

“She’s proud of herself for how she handled such a chaotic situation but I think she’s second-guessing this whole thing and wondering if it was worth it.

“For both herself and her family who she’s fiercely protective of and tries to keep more private.”

Yesterday, The U.S. Sun reported that despite the alleged frustration, Carrie is remaining “quiet” as she navigates the situation that has also put the American Idol team in a “stressful” position

“The show just wants to stay away from anything political so this turning into such a big, worldwide topic of conversation is not what [the producers] wanted heading into the start of the season.

“The situation has become too big and out of anyone’s control now which is a stressful position to be in while trying to promote a family-friendly, politically neutral show.

“While I know people wish the show wasn’t involved, they are proud of how Carrie handled herself in what I’m sure was a stressful moment but this is basically worst-case scenario.

“In terms of the amount of attention it’s gotten and Idol being brought into the political conversation,” a source claimed.

On Monday, the Oklahoma native endured a massive technical error that led to several moments of awkward silence on live TV in the middle of the inauguration.

Carrie was walked onto the packed stage area where music from America The Beautiful was supposed to begin playing.

However, nothing came from the speakers – leading to awkward moments of silence and confusion as the whole room, Carrie included, looked around – seemingly not knowing what to do.

She grimaced as she tightly gripped her microphone while waiting for the music – which begun to play for a fleeting second but quickly ended.

Carrie ended up pushing through as she belted out the tune acapella and was praised by viewers for her professional “boss move.”

Carrie Underwood’s Family

The American Idol winner had relationships with Chace Crawford and Tony Romo but she ultimately walked down the aisle with Mike Fisher.

Mike is a Canadian retired hockey player from Peterborough, Ontario.

In October 1999, Fisher made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators.

He played for the Senators until he was traded to the Nashville Predators.

One of the reasons he agreed to the trade was so he could be close to his wife Carrie.

On December 20, 2009, Carrie and her former hockey captain hubby announced their engagement.

On July 10, 2010, Carrie Underwood and Mike tied the knot after almost two years of dating.

More than 250 people were in attendance at their wedding ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia.

Carrie’s engagement ring from Mike features a yellow diamond and was valued at $150K.

In February 2015, the couple welcomed their first child; a son named Isaiah.

In January 2019, the singer and the pro athlete expanded their family further with the birth of their second son Jacob.

Despite the positive reaction from fans, Carrie was reportedly left “furious” by the lack of consideration, as well as for the technical mishap that occurred on the world’s biggest stage.

According to the DailyMail, Carrie was upset that she was not granted a proper “stage or platform even like previous performers,” presumably due to the event being held indoors.

“Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable.

“Her anxiety was high throughout the performance, and she felt that she was not afforded the same level of respect or admiration that previous performers, such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, had received.

“She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterward,” a source claimed to the outlet.

The insider added that Carrie “is used to playing at massive venues with a stage to herself. She was not given a stage or a platform even.

Carrie’s comeback to American Idol will star when the season 23 premiere, also starring Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, airs on Sunday, March 9.
