Instagram may not always be a primary source for authenticity (okay, let’s be honest—it rarely is), but that doesn’t mean we can’t indulge in a little voyeurism every now and then. Who doesn’t love getting a glimpse into how celebrities spend their downtime? Granted, many of the wellness practices touted on social media are…less than accessible, to say the least. We can’t all afford the remote vacations and expensive treatments that feed A-Listers’ inner peace, but it’s still fun to lust after them. That said, not everything you’ll catch the VIP crowd posting is completely out of reach: Even Oscar-winners and Olympic legends enjoy a good nap or a living room stretch session. Besides, for some of us, a mindless, indulgent scroll is a form of self-care in and of itself—which is why we’ve rounded up some of the best recent wellness Instagram posts from celebs.
This week, our famous friends took advantage of summer’s high season: sun and surf were common main ingredients in their wellness regimens. Olympians Michelle Kwan and Lindsey Vonn both took to the water to find restoration and strength—Kwan diving into her forty-third year surrounded by her support system, and Vonn hopping back on the jet ski following a knee surgery she hopes will relieve lasting damage from her skiing career. Maria Sharapova admitted that even on a dreamy Grecian getaway, relaxing felt a little unnatural, and Alicia Keys reminded her followers that welcoming stillness is, in fact, “soooooooooooooooooo productive.” Simone Biles announced her triumphant comeback to Team USA, and Alex Morgan reflected on the USWNT’s World Cup defeat, both of them brimming with gratitude. Oh, and if you need Kate Husdon, she’ll be meditating on her floor until further notice.
