Who is Chad Duell?

Chad Lewis Duell was born in Chicago, Illinois USA, on 14 September 1987 – his zodiac sign is Virgo, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor with currently nine credits to his name, probably known best for his portrayal of Michael Corinthos, one of the main characters in one of the longest running soap operas – “General Hospital”. It’s been airing since 1963 (Chad joined the cast in 2000), today also stars Maurice Benard, Steve Burton and Laura Wright, and follows the people who are living in and visiting Port Charles, New York State; the series has won 301 of the 939 awards for which it’s been nominated, including a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Early life and education

Chad was raised in Chicago by his parents, about whom nothing’s known because he respects their privacy; it’s believed that his father was a used-car salesman, and that his mother was a defense attorney. Because he hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most people believe him to be an only child.

He became interested in acting while still attending a local elementary school, mostly because he spent a lot of his spare time watching movies and TV series; Chad also appeared in a couple of plays performed at the school. He went on to attend Mountainside Middle School, and then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to study at Desert Mountain High School; Chad was physically highly active during his time there, playing soccer and table tennis for school teams.

He dropped out a year before he was about to matriculate, and moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career.

Roles in TV series

Chad made his debut TV series appearance with his portrayal of Ronald Longcape, Jr. in two episodes of the 2008 adventure comedy drama “Wizards of Waverly Place”. It was created by Todd J. Greenwald, starred Selena Gomez, David Henrie and Jake T. Austin, and follows the Russo family who are running their own restaurant, while one of their three children will be chosen to become the next family wizard; the series won 39 awards, including two Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 50 other awards. Also in 2008, Chad played Holden in two episodes of the action adventure comedy “The Suite Life on Deck”.

He portrayed the supporting character Shared Saves Wall in the 2012 short comedy “Youth Pastor Kevin”, and in 2017, Chad played Adam Kenway in the critically acclaimed romantic drama “The Bay”. It was created by Gregori J. Martin, today stars Kristos Andrews, Mary Beth Evans and Jade Harlow, and follows the reckless lives of people from Bay City; the series has been airing since 2010, and has won 37 of the 120 awards for which it’s been nominated.

Chad has appeared in only two other TV series: the 2018 drama “The Agency”, and the 2020 episode “Green Arrow & the Canaries” of the hit crime action adventure “Arrow”.

Roles in movies

Chad has a single film credit: in 2018, he portrayed Jack in the thriller “A Friend’s Obsession”, directed by Craig Goldstein, and which starred Karissa Lee Staples, Kayla Ewell and Drew Seeley. It follows Megan whose fiancé has been killed, while she has now moved far away from her old house and has found a new boyfriend.

Chad’s currently shooting for the upcoming horror “13 Bumps”, in which he’ll be starring alongside Courtney Hope and J. W. Cudd.

Other credits

Chad has been featured in a couple of documentaries and TV specials, including the 2011 “RAINN Public Service Announcement”, the 2011 “The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” and “Live From the Red Carpet: The 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards”.

He’s made a guest appearance in a couple of talk-shows, such as “Chelsey Lately”, “Serial Scoop Now” and “Soap Central”.

Chad has been nominated for two Gold Derby Awards and five Daytime Emmy Awards for his performance in “General Hospital”, winning a 2015 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

He was also nominated for a 2018 Indie Series Award for Best Guest Actor – Drama, and a 2018 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Digital Daytime Drama Series, both for his performance in “The Bay”.

Love life and wife

Chad has a somewhat checkered history of relationships. He met the non-celebrity American woman Taylor Novack in autumn 2010, and asked her to marry him nine months later, after having taken her on a trip to Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida.

The two exchanged vows on 15 September 2012, in a private ceremony attended by only the closest of their friends and family members, however, it was annulled by the end of the year, with Chad stating that they had wed too soon.

In 2016, he began dating the American actress Courtney Ann Hope, who has appeared in close to 50 movies and TV series, and is probably known best for her portrayal of Sally Spectra in the soap opera “The Young and the Restless”. They were five years into their relationship when Chad proposed on Valentine’s Day 2021, while they married on 23 October 2021. However, Chad and Courtney went their separate ways only a couple of months later, with Chad stating strangely that they weren’t actually married, having signed no papers.




As of February 2022, Chad seems to be single, was married once (maybe twice) and has no children.

Hobbies and other interests

Chad’s highly active on Instagram, and apparently enjoys the attention which he’s receiving from his close to 200,000 followers; he’s uploaded nearly 500 pictures onto the network, most of which feature him during his everyday life.

He’s a huge animal lover, and has a pet dog which can be seen featured in some of his Instagram pictures.

Chad has multiple training sessions at the gym every week, thus his muscular body.

Summer is his favorite season, as he enjoys going yachting, sun tanning at the beach and playing beach volleyball.

He has his own favorite actor and actress, Eddie Redmayne and Emma Watson, while a couple of his favorite movies include the franchise “Harry Potter”, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.

Chad’s age is 34. He has short brown hair and green eyes, his height is 6ft (1.85m) and he weighs around 170lbs (80kgs).
