The Internet is burning up with what former CNN host Chris Cuomo said on a podcast about what he was thinking about after his firing from CNN.

Cuomo told Anthony Scaramucci on his podcast, âOpen Book with Anthony Scaramucci,â that he had to âaccept [my firing] because I was going to kill everybody, including myself. Things can consume you. Italians are so passionate. And I really had to fight against that.â
The ousted journalist admitted he âmakes a lot of mistakesâ and started therapy after being âsât-cannedâ by CNN bosses.
âThere is damage that is relatable, there is damage that is unrelatable to people that I have to deal with, that I am working on,â he continued.
Cuomo has since gotten a job with News Nation. As we reported, things havenât been going well. His viewership numbers are pretty bad, averaging about 63,000 a night, versus his CNN show where he averaged a million a night.
He recalled, âAt CNN and I wasnât set up to be [No. 1]. I wasnât the big name there, I didnât have the big team, they didnât do the advertising about me. But I was still No. 1. Why? Because it was the best show. Because I was giving people what they needed in that moment.â
At NewsNation, however, Chris knows that the audience is âsmallâ and âpeople donât want to watch.â
âItâs hard to keep perspective on that because itâs kind of embarrassing,â he lamented before sternly telling The Mooch, âI will never be [No. 1] again.â

âI believe that was taken, I believe wrongly. I will litigate that. I am not going to bitch about it in the press.â
As he b**ched about it to the media. You can see heâs still not resolved his issues with getting fired.
Heâs in the process of suing CNN, and he said he was also âin litigationâ over the cancelation of his book after his firing.
Yes, itâs normal to get upset after being fired. No, itâs not normal to think about killing everybody and yourself; it has nothing to do with being Italian. Thatâs a terrible excuse, not to mention insulting to Italians. It sounds like therapy was a good idea for him.
But when this hit all over the internet on Wednesday, Cuomo tried to suggest he never said it, that the single quote marks meant it wasnât a quote but a âcharacterization.â
See the single quotes? That means characterization not direct quoteâŚthe post doing what it does. The truth: We all struggle; we all have to deal with upset and angerâŚI am no different. That is the pointâŚyou get itâŚthey twist itâŚso it goes. https://t.co/hJKmKIYfKv

âSee the single quotes? That means characterization not direct quoteâŚthe post [sic] doing what it does,â Cuomo argued, attacking the NY Post for running the story. âThe truth: We all struggle; we all have to deal with upset and angerâŚI am no different. That is the pointâŚyou get itâŚthey twist itâŚso it goes.â
Um, Chris? Thereâs audio. Plus, he doesnât understand that the single quotes are AP style for headlines. The headline is slightly off, in that the quote was actually âI was going to kill everybody, including [not and] myself.â Plus, the exact quote is in double quotes in the body of the article, so heâs just being ridiculous. But thatâs Cuomo and it isnât the first time that heâs said something outrageous âsuch as when he flipped out on the guy who called him âFredo.â It sounds like he has a lot of work yet to do to figure himself out.
