Vanessa M McDonald, Corey Raymond’s wife, could have lived apart from him. The pair has never published any photos of themselves together on social media. Corey Raymond was sacked by the University of Florida in November after serving for two years. Since then, some LSU supporters have requested that the longstanding fan-favorite coach return to his previous employment.
The news of Corey’s comeback has received further attention after LSU coach Brian Kelly dismissed four defensive coaches, including defensive coordinator Matt House. However, it was also under Brian Kelly that Corey departed for UF. Raymond has been quiet about his homecoming and hasn’t made any postings suggesting he could return to LSU. The Tigers won the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin, although their defense battled all season. So, will Corey Raymond be the one to repair it again?
Is Coach Corey Raymond Married?
Vanessa M McDonald, Corey Raymond’s wife, may have split from the football coach some years ago. Raymond previously uploaded a family photo on Instagram, but it did not feature Vanessa. The photo was of him and his three children. He admitted that his second kid, Ariel, was gone but said nothing about his spouse. Vanessa’s Instagram username is secret, but her Facebook page has no photos of her or Corey.
Previously, Corey and Vanessa’s youngest son, Chris Raymond, posted a photo of himself and his mother on Mother’s Day in 2019. He captioned the photo, “My First Love.” Chris was born on May 31, 1997, and formerly played football at McNeese State University. He graduated from University Lab and played wide receiver. Chris’s playing time at McNeese was short, and he saw no action.
Cody Raymond, Corey, and Vanessa’s eldest kid has an Instagram account, but he keeps it secret. However, it seems that he may be active in football. The football coach also has two children, Ariel and Madison. He has previously published photos of Madison, his youngest kid, referring to her as his favorite. Madison turned 16 last year and attends Clifton High School.
Will Corey Raymond Return to LSU?
Since Brian Kelly fired four defensive coaches, no one has stopped speculating about Corey Raymond’s return to his previous employers. Kelly indicated in a statement posted by LSU that defensive coordinator Matt House and three other defensive coaches, Robert Steeples, Kerry Cooks, and Jimmy Lindsey, would not be retained for the 2024 season. This seems to be the ideal moment for Raymond to return to his old haunts after being sacked by Florida in November. He was hired by the Gators after the 2021 season and has spent the past two seasons as the team’s defensive back coach.
In a previous interview with The Athletic, Corey said that his choice to attend Florida was the finest one he could have made. But Raymond couldn’t bring the magic he had built at LSU to UF. He was dismissed with Sean Spencer, the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach. However, with Robert Steeples’ departure, Ryamond may return to his prior role at LSU. Many LSU fans want Corey to return to LSU, where he spent many years and helped create numerous outstanding athletes.
Last month, the YouTube channel After Further Review: LSU advocated for Raymond’s return to LSU, citing the fact that LSU became known as DBU under Corey’s leadership. Under Corey, LSU produced seven first-team All-Americans. The list includes Eric Reid, Jalen Mills, Jamal Adams, Tre’Davious White, Greedy Williams, Grant Delpit, and Derek Stingley Jr. For many, Corey Raymond’s comeback is a no-brainer and should be completed promptly. One fan even said, “I need LSU to announce Corey Raymond is back more than I need to breathe.”
