Crooked I is an American rapper who has released the solo studio albums Apex Predator (2013), Sex, Money, and Hip-Hop (2014), Good vs. Evil (2016), and Good vs. Evil II: The Red Empire (2017). He is also well recognized for his work as a former member of the hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse. He has published numerous EPs and mixtapes over the course of his career. He has served as the CEO of his own record labels, Dynasty Entertainment and C.O.B. Digital. He had also served a term as the Senior Vice President of Treacherous Records.

- When he was about 17 years old, Crooked I had started an independent record company named Muscle Records, in partnership with a couple of professional football players who also hailed from his home city of Long Beach. The music recorded through this company was not released but his work there had brought him to the attention of Virgin Records and he had consequently landed his first record deal in 1995.
- In the mid-2000s, he had garnered a substantial following online with a fan community/discussion forum that had amassed more than 15k subscribed members within a year of its establishment. The forum was referred to as the Dynasty Online Community on a website that was located at westcoastdynasty.com.
- This innovation had led to the launch of Dynasty TV, the first-ever artist-based online video streaming platform that used to showcase music videos, interviews, and concert footage much before YouTube had caught on.
- A mixtape, titled Young Boss Vol. 1, that he had released through the aforementioned website, had been downloaded more than 20k times which had crashed the webserver.
- In February 2009, at an event in Long Beach, he had been allegedly shot at during a conversation with a fan. He had escaped without any severe injury and had relayed the information to the media stating that he was mentally a bit shaken but was physically fine.
