He attended Eton College on a private scholarship. Kruger attended the University of Edinburgh to study history. His tenure as editor of the university’s Intercourse magazine included a contentious issue that featured three naked students and a massage parlor advertisement.
When it overturned the Roe v. Wade decision last week, the US Supreme Court eliminated the right to an abortion for everyone nationally. According to Kruger, it is unclear why the US is being lectured about a ruling that would place the power of decision-making over this political issue in the hands of the states’ democratic decision-makers rather than the judiciary.
Stella Creasy, a Labour MP, told Kruger that abortion was “really a human rights issue for many of us.” Following the Supreme Court’s decision, each US state is now free to outlaw abortion if they so want.
