While many people have gained weight during lockdown, Deborah Hutton has dropped six kilos – and feels better than ever.

The 59-year-old, who will turn 60 in a matter of months, credits cutting out alcohol and sugar with her transformation.

‘I’m 60 in December and, it’s hilarious, but I feel better than I’ve ever felt,’ she tells this week’s Stellar.

‘I’ve really focused on my health and I feel so much stronger. I’m not really calorie counting, just making sure that I’m consuming less,’ she added.

‘I love cooking, so it’s really exciting making beautiful meals with lots of vegetables and spices. I’m drinking lots of water and then a couple of times a week I’ll have shakes with all those good probiotics and stuff.’

The model has added a stationary bike to her routine, as well as walking and golf games.

She also takes melatonin to help keep her sleep in check, and has been meditating to keep herself calm.

The TV star previously credited milk thistle with giving her flawless, youthful skin.

‘A naturopath told me recently that this magic flower (also known as St Mary’s Thistle) is brilliant for supporting the regeneration of liver cells,’ she wrote on her website, Balance by Deborah Hutton.

When it comes to her skincare, Deborah said she has learned over the years that sticking to the same thing and doing it day-in-day-out has been key to maintaining the quality of her skin.

‘Stick to a daily skincare regime – cleanse, hydrate and protect,’ she said.

Deborah also adds in a daily broad spectrum sunscreen to protect her from the harmful UVA and UVB rays to her daily regime, as well as regular exfoliating.

She drinks somewhere between 1.5 and two litres of water each day, while avoiding fatty foods and sugar where possible.

‘I’m far from perfect and love my indulgences, but I generally have a fairly healthy diet – chicken, fish, salads etc – and steer clear of deep-fried food, soft drinks and too many sweets,’ she said.

Deborah supplements her daily diet with magnesium, Vitamin C, Omega 3, Vitamin B, Anthogenol and Silica.
