The inspiring story turned his life around to become one of the most successful basketball players in the NBA.

Dejounte Murray was arrested when he was around 15-year-old and spent his time in detention in a juvenile facility in Seattle, Washington.
He shared this life event in his Twitter profile, where he elaborates, “10 Years Ago I Was In Juvenile And That Whole Month In There I Told The Guards Ima Get Out And Change My Life And Never Come Back And They Told Me I Will Be Right Back.
Furthermore, he wrote, “10 Years Later Them Same Guards Asking For Pictures And My Autograph!! Look At GOD!!!”
The reason for his arrest was not mentioned in the particular Twitter post; however, he spent a month-long time inspiring himself from the event.
According to clutchpoints.com, Murray used his critics as fuel and further remarked that the same doubters and detractors are now requesting photos and autographs.

Dejounte Murray Arrested: How Long Was He In Juvenile Jail?
Dejounte Murray spent a month of his time in Juvenile Jail ten years back when he was around 15 years old. His arrest charges have not been disclosed, which seem to be minor of a kind.
The self-motivation behind the curtains of his arrest led him to the NBA, one of the biggest brawls in basketball casket. The Spurs’ former first-round draft pick has come a long way since then.
In 2020-2021, Dejounte showed hints of breaking out, and it all came to fruition in 2021-2022. On the other hand, Murray may not have yet reached his prime.
During the 2022-2023 season, he could be in line for an even greater showing for the Spurs. He is the franchise player for San Antonio. They intend to construct a competitor around him.

Murray was selected second-team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team as a freshman at the University of Washington in 2015–16 after averaging 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.8 steals in 33.5 minutes while starting all 34 games.
Dejounte was declared for the NBA draft on March 23, 2016, preceding his remaining three years of NCAA eligibility.
