DEMI Moore has embraced the spooky Halloween season with a fittingly terrifying throwback.
The 61-year-old actress was barely recognizable in heavy prosthetics morphing her into a terrifying naked older woman.
Taken on the set of her hit horror movie The Substance – which is being tipped for potential awards wins this season – Demi was stripped of her classic stunning looks and poker-straight raven hair.
Instead, Demi was seen with a bald head, dropping breasts and mottled skin with an extended nose and furrowed brow.
A second picture has to be blurred out from the bottom, but shows her holding her mini-chihuahua Pilaf in her hands while hunched over in full-body prosthetics.
A third is even more terrifying, with the character cut and bloodied all over her face.
She wrote: “Been holding onto these gems from [The Substance] and today feels like an appropriate day to share them. Happy Halloween from Elisabeth Sparkle”
The Substance follows Demi’s character Elisabeth, an esteemed TV aerobics instructor, who finds her life being thrown off course when she’s fired from her show for being “too old”.
Desperate to cling to her youth and fame, she finds an answer from a mysterious laboratory who offer her The Substance, a glowing green liquid that promises to transform her into an “enhanced version of herself”.
However, she gets more than she bargained for when the material actually breeds Sue (played by Margaret Qualley) a younger, more confident version of Elisabeth that bursts out of her back.
Now the pair have to work together or face the after-effects of the black market product in increasingly gruesome ways.
Initial reactions from Cannes Film Festival, where the movie premiered, included critics calling it “one for the sickos” due to its gruesome and graphic shots of blood, gore and organs.
