Dennis Rodman garnered uncharted fame with his on the court skills and off the court eccentricities. His daughter, Trinity Rodman, doesn’t quite display her father’s same eccentricities; however, the sports talent gene is definitely on display. The nineteen-year-old has just made history by becoming the highest paid player in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The Washington Spirit forward signed a $1.1 million deal with the soccer club. According to ESPN, this deal gave Rodman her place in history as the highest-paid player in the ten years of the NWSL. This moment is truly monumental for Rodman and the community as a whole, as there aren’t a lot of Black athletes on the soccer field. Hopefully, Rodman is about to change that!
“We’re incredibly excited to have Trin as a part of the Spirit family for at least the next three seasons,” Spirit coach Kris Ward said in a recent interview. “She has a truly special career ahead of her and makes us a better club on all fronts.”
Ward continued in an interview with The Washington Post, stating that, “People are always going to — especially people who don’t know me and are new to the soccer world — see Dennis Rodman’s daughter. It comes with the name, but I definitely achieved what I wanted and [put out] the message I wanted, being so young, being a woman, being in the soccer world.”
Rodman was the youngest player to ever be drafted into the NWSL. As a result of her superior talent and athleticism, she was named the NWSL’s 2021 Rookie of The Year.

And of course, Dennis Rodman is proud of his daughter. Trinity admitted in an Instagram post that she and the basketball legend haven’t had the best relationship; however, she is looking towards the future and hoping that that will change.
“This last game was an extremely emotional one. Yes Dennis rodman showed up to an Nwsl game, but also my dad, after YEARS surprised me at a big game in my career, I was shocked, overwhelmed, happy, sad, everything,” she posted.
Rodman continued, “My dad doesn’t play a big role in my life at all and most people don’t know that, we don’t see eye to eye on many things. I go months if not years without his presence or communication. Being in spotlights has been hard for us, him and me. We don’t have the best relationship, but at the end of the day he’s human I’m human… he’s my dad, and I’m his little girl that will never change. I will improve and look forward everyday as I hope he does.”
Congratulations, Trinity! We have a feeling that you are going to convert a new legend of soccer fans, young and old, as we will be all watching to see what is next for you!
