The best way to prevent acne caused by dirt and bacteria is to wash the face on a daily basis, advised the expert, explained Dr Amir.

This, however, may not be the best way to prevent breakouts along the jawline, which tend to reflect a hormonal imbalance.

Dr Amir explained: “Spots around your jawline could be a hormonal problem, particularly in women.

“[Mainly] male sex hormones, all women produce them. Some women produce them in higher amounts.
